PolyVista Awarded Patent
for Combination of Techniques and Practices in Business
Information Analytics
PolyVista, Inc., a leading
provider of Business Information Analytics announced today
that it has been awarded US Patent 6,750,864 entitled
"Programs and methods for the display, analysis and manipulation
of multi-dimensional data implemented on a computer,"
a core technology within its business information analysis
product, PolyVista Discovery software.
The newly granted patent covers various computer program
products, systems, and methods to improve the display,
visualization, mining, analysis, and manipulation of multi-dimensional
data by integrating multidimensional data manipulation,
mining, and visualization.
Many of the visualization routines combine 2D and 3D renderings
with domain selecting criteria and stacking criteria with
line segments connecting variable values between records
in a given dataset or between corresponding
variable values in records of related datasets. The graphical
user interface employs active, persistent and slider variables
to probe variable relationships, group relationships,
and dataset relationships.
"When we built our flagship product Discovery, it was
in anticipation that the business community needed to
progress beyond the currently available data analysis
tools that were limited in their scope of use by their
complexity. In order to help businesses capitalize on
the unprecedented volumes of data available to them, we
felt it was important to enable information consumers
to extract greater value from their data by providing
them with an environment that supports reporting, ad hoc
analysis, and can guide them to new and unforeseen insights
automatically. The challenge and opportunity is to go
to the next level of business analysis and understand
that we don't know all the questions. As technologies
like PolyVista are placed in the hands of information
consumers we will all improve our ability to ask the right
questions," said Shahbaz Anwar CEO and founder of PolyVista.
"The granting of this patent and previous patents validates
our technology leadership, reflects our history of innovation,
and protects our intellectual property."
